Home owners in England will soon be permitted to add two extra floors under Permitted Development rights without the need to obtain full Planning Permission.
The news are welcomed in the industry. However, a recent paper published by the government provides shocking findings about the quality standard of homes delivered through certain permitted development rights.
Overall, only 22.1% of dwelling units created through Permitted Development would meet the nationally described space standards, compared to 73.4% of units created through full planning permission.
So, although Planning Permission may not be needed to build some home extensions, it is paramount that homeowners engage with the right professionals to ensure that their works are completed to the right standards.
We believe that Design and Build is an excellent route to provide this reassurance to homeowners without the need to appoint multiple parties. Contact us to discover how Creative Building Club can help you with your build project.
